The afternoon begins with the astral-Americana of Bill Walker’s looped slide-guitar. “New Music Works remains an outstanding example, perhaps the outstanding example in Santa Cruz of art at a high level driven by curiosity and passion,” said Schultz. Joseph Schultz, chef and owner of the legendary restaurant India Joze in Downtown Santa Cruz, is catering his 35th Avant Garden Party with a Polynesian menu. This will be a procession of music sweet as fragrant pikake flowers. In an idyllic Soquel garden, New Music Works concludes its 39th season with the Avant Garden Aloha on June 10.
